Episcopal Church of the Advent presents The Thirteen, the Washington D.C.-based all-star choral ensemble, in a concert called Bach Reflections on February 26 at 4 pm in the church at Franklin and Washington Streets in Cape May. A reception will follow. A $15.00 donation will be taken at the door. The Thirteen is in its fifth season and its third appearance at Church of the Advent with highly successful tours and residencies at major universities around the country. Three lively and joyous motets by Johann Sebastian Bach provide the framework for Bach Reflections, which also includes the work of Schutz, Brahms and a number of 21st century American composers who all exhibit the same deep, ardent expression as Bach does in his peerless motets. Described as having “a tight and attractive vocal blend and excellent choral discipline” by American Record Guide, The Thirteen draws its artists from among the finest ensembles in the world and has a growing discography which includes the critically acclaimed Christmas album, “Snow on Snow”. They are also committed to educating and inspiring the next generation of musicians and frequently coach students in master classes and workshops.
